ZSL 2019/2020 REVIEW PART 1
The 2019/2020 MTN SUPER LEAGUE so far has been exciting and we expect nothing less as lovers of the Zambian game, to show our love for the Zambian game Zedbola will gladly give you a review of league football so far and here it goes:
To get the title of “MOST CONSISTENT & ENTERTAINING TEAM SO FAR” is POWER DYNAMOS FC, the Kitwe giants have been in scintillating form since the appointment of the coaching duo of Perry Mutapa and Masauso Tembo; Power Dynamos FC have been a machine playing attractive football and have in the last 5 games beaten all their opponents convincingly bagging a record of 5 wins, scoring 10 goals in 5 games (averaging 2 goals in each game) and conceding 0 goals in the process. It must be said that Power Dynamos have had the most dramatic turn so far in the league from being every team’s favourite opponent to the most feared opponent in just a few weeks. One can only wonder how far the Kitwe side will go this season: top four, CCC or CCL football, Champions of the league… no one knows, for now we wait and see.
To get the title of “BEST PLAYER SO FAR” is Zesco United FC marks man JESSE JACKSON WERE, it’s safe to say that giving him this title will be accepted by many as he has once again shown that he is a top player in the league; leading the top goal scorer chart with 10 goals bagging hat tricks along the way making it look easy and if he isn’t scoring goals then he is creating them for his team mates showing us his creative side of the game, to top it off his professionalism whenever he walks onto the pitch is exemplary to not only his team mates but to even the young football lovers that watch him play.
To get the unwanted title of “WEAKEST DEFENCE” is Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy, the Kabwe based side have earned the title after 15 weeks of league football in which they have conceded a total of 30 goals, scoring a total of 10 goals giving them a goal difference of -20 which is also the largest compared to any team in the league. The rank for the weakest defence is as follows: 1st Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy with 30 goals conceded, 2nd Mufulira Wanderers FC with 24 goals conceded and 3rd Lusaka Dynamos FC with 19 goals conceded.
STRONGEST DEFENCE
- Zesco United FC with 7 goals conceded in 12 games played.
- Nkwazi FC with 9 goals conceded in 13 games played.
- NAPSA Stars FC, Nkana FC, Green Eagles FC, Power Dynamos FC and Forest Rangers FC each with 10 goals conceded in 15, 14, 14, 14 and 15 games played respectively.
WEAKEST ATTACK
- Nkwazi FC with 5 goals scored in 13 games played.
- Mufulira Wanderers FC with 8 goals scored in 15 games played.
- Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy 10 goals scored in 14 games played.
STRONGEST ATTACK
- Zesco United FC with 25 goals scored in 12 games played.
- NAPSA Stars FC and Green Eagles FC with 21 goals scored in 15 and 14 games respectively.
- Nkana FC with 17 goals scored in 14 games played.
