ZESCO TARGET CAF CONFEDERATIONS TITLE

After failing to advance to the group stage of the CAF Champions League, Zesco United skipper Jacob Banda has shifted focus to winning the Confederation Cup.

Zesco were relegated to Africa’s second tier competition after losing 2-1 on aggregate to Democratic Republic of Congo side TP Mazembe.

Banda said in an interview in Ndola yesterday that Zesco will strive to win the Confederation Cup to compensate for their elimination from the premier competition.

“I think we can win it [Confederation Cup], it’s just a matter of preparing well. We can manage if we stay focused, disciplined and continue working hard. We need to rise to the occasion and compensate the sponsor [Zesco Limited], executive and fans for failure to qualify to the group stage of the Champions League,” he said
