Zedbola Team of the Year(ZTOTY)

With every ending to a football season, it is only normal that the players that have maintained a level above others be appreciated and recognized. The 2018 MTN FAZ SUPER LEAGUE has been full of entertainment, drama, explosive goals, brilliant saves and everything nice as the players put up a show all season for fans and football lovers, without taking anymore time let’s get straight into the team of the year:

Goal keeper: Charles Muntanga – He may not have accumulated the most clean sheets but during match days he performances were heroic be it penalties, one on one situations, shots on goal etc.

Defenders: Joseph Musonda – despite being the oldest player in the league, his performances during the season have been exceptional and deserving of being on the bench of ZTOTY.

Luka Banda – it may have taken him half the season to find his rhythm but once he got it, only a few defenders if not mentioned already managed to out perform him. Being such a source of inspiration for NAPSA; Luka helped his team survive relegation.

Diamond Chikwekwe – labelled “paper weight” by fans of opposing teams, Diamond made sure he delivered paper cuts to opposing teams. On his day Chikwekwe was unplayable with his silky touches and dribbles always cutting in to shot at goal, basically he was the source of some worry in opposing defences.

Anthony Akumu – the Zesco United midfielder’s work easily goes unnoticed but his contribution to his team is worth noting. Failure to get goals consistently means that he doesn’t always get the attention, however, his contribution be it movement on and off the ball, composure and professionalism can only be matched by a few in the league.

Charles Zulu – the pacey winger despite struggling with injuries in the just ended season was Zanaco’s go to man. Charles is one who is unplayable on his day as he always proves to be too quick for defenders and everyone against him.

Lazurus Kambole – the Zesco live wire has had a breakthrough season for the Ndola based side proving to be the go to guy when things get tough, however, he only misses out on the starting 11 because all 3 attackers managed to outscore him in the league.

COACH: Beston Chambeshi – aka “quicksilver” assembled the deadliest attack in the league and managed to get the most out of his team while maintaining stability in Nkana Fc.
