THE U15 TO PLAY IN GEORGIA

The Zambia Under-15 National Team has been invited for a Four Nation Under-16 tournament to be hosted by Georgia.
Zambia will join Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan and Georgia on a tournament that is part of the UEFA Assist partnership with the Football Association of Zambia.

The tournament will run from May 10-16 in Georgia.
FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala says the tournament will be important as it will give the under-15 team an opportunity to compete with top clubs.

“We are grateful to UEFA for the invitation for the U16 tournament and will ensure that we honour the invitation by sending a team representative of Zambian talent,” Kashala says.
“In 2020 we were part of the Vlatko Markovic Invitational Tournament in Croatia where we sent our U-15 team. This is a great opportunity that also ties with our strong grassroots and youth football program.”

Kashala says, “The FAZ Technical Directorate is on the ground with the provincial offices and leadership to ensure that talent from across the country is not missed out. A team of technical experts is combing through the provinces to identify junior players that will be part of the final check-up in Lusaka.”

FAZ has prioritized youth development with the under-17 boys having qualified to the under-17 Africa Cup of Nations which was cancelled while the under-17 girls won the 2021 Cosafa championship.
