THE STORY OF M. MUSONDA

The story of Mwape Musonda has been nothing short of inspirational and Zedbola we would like to narrate it, here it goes.

Mwape Musonda born in 1991 on the 24th April was introduced to the Zambian Super League in 2012 by his boyhood club Konkola Mine Police, who were also having their debut season in top flight club football. Mwape during his debut season in top flight football bagged himself 10 goals and his efforts earned him a loan move to Zanaco FC where he spent an entire season scoring 2 goals in the process of what can be called a modest season.

Mwape then left Zanaco FC and the county all together at the end of his loan spell, ending up in South Africa where he signed for Orlando Pirates in the season 2014/2015 and only played for 27 minutes eventually leading him to join Lamontville Golden Arrows where he had better luck and played for a total of 755 minutes which is equivalent to 8 matches, even that wasn’t enough for ambitious Mwape who then moved to Black Leopards FC where he has spent 3 seasons and currently plays; his record in the last 2 years at Black Leopards stands at 56 appearances grabbing a total of 33 goals and 2 assists. It is worth noting that in the current PSL season he sits comfortably at the summit of the goal scorers’ chart with 13 goals proving to be a thorn for the defenders and keepers.

Mwape Musonda’s efforts haven’t gone unnoticed as he recently earned his 2nd Chipolopolo call up and played a part in the 4-1 demolition of Namibia with his first call up coming under the reign legendary coach Herve Renard on the 8th August in a 2-1 win over Zimbabwe in Ndola.

This story of one of Zambia’s sons reveals just how he refused to settle for less, how he went out to get what he deserves, to show that he is the best at what he does and now as he is reaping the results showing us his dreams all we can do is applaud him for not giving up even when things didn’t look to be rosy for him.

Are you inspired to go out and be the best like Mwape Musonda?
