THE GAME OF TRIOS!!!

The game of trios has been evident since the beginning of the season and has manifested in some of the teams in the SUPER LEAGUE. Zesco United, Nkana, Green Eagles and Green Buffaloes are some of the teams that have exhibited the game of trios; it’s largely due to their performance that the mentioned teams boast of their respective positions on the log. Now let’s talk about trios belonging to each team:

First up is Zesco’s trio of Jesse Jackson Were, Lazarus Kambole and John Ching’andu who have contributed 13, 10 and 5 goals respectively. The trio has treated everything as business as usual looking at how they alone have contributed 28 goals helping zega to the title of the third highest scoring team in the league. Zesco’s position on the log can be attributed to the trio’s form which has been exemplary, whenever they play if the trio aren’t scoring goals they are assisting other team mates.

Up next is the Green Eagles trio which is arguably the most in form. The trio is made up of Tapson Kaseba, Anos Tembo and Spencer Sautu who individually have contributed 11, 10 and 6 goals respectively. With a total of 27 goals coupled with the goals other team mates scored, they have helped Eagles earn the title of second highest scoring team in the league and it is worth noting that Eagles have recorded the largest win in the league. We can only applaud the trio for the amazing work.

The next trio is that of Nkana FC, which arguably can be called the most deadly trio in the league with a combined total of 29 goals and is made up of Idriss Mbombo, Walter Bwalya and Ronald Kampamba whose form alongside other team mates has seen them earn the title of the highest scoring team in the league as well as the highest scoring trio. It isn’t surprising that a member of the trio is currently leading the goal scoring chart and has turned into a fan favourite, it’s evident in that whenever he scores the crowd always go crazy as they chant “Mbo mbo mbo mbo mbo mbo mbo mbo mbo!” To show his appreciation Idriss has been scoring goals like it’s nothing.

Green Buffaloes FC own a trio that isn’t the flashiest but is the most efficient of them all and is made up of Diamond Chikwekwe, Youremember Banda and Mike Katiba; as mentioned earlier being efficient is their portion and no one else does it better, if it means winning the game with a single goal scored in the first minute of the first half the trio are the go to guys. Earlier in the campaign the trio were criticised and called names like paper weight players; guess who proved everyone wrong? It is worth noting that as a team GBFC are the seventh highest scoring team.

Lastly one trio seems to be brewing and it’s in the heart of Kitwe where it’s brewing from, to be exact at the Arthur Davies stadium; it looks to contain the ever bright Larry Bwalya who simply scores screamers for fun, the fan favourite Alex “Bazo” Ngong’a and latest addition Elvis Rupia who has promised to match up to his fellow Kenyan’s reputation in Jesse Jackson Were. From the trio brewing we can only anticipate how good they will be, for now we rub our palms together and wait for the awesomeness to unfold.
