MBOMBO the striker on fire

Idriss Illunga Mbombo; a name well known to every follower of Zambian football was first introduced to the Zambian game by Kabwe Warriors, cemented his status as a prolific striker at Zesco United then left to join Al-Shabab FC a Saudi Arabian professional football club and now he is back with Nkana FC seeming to pack even more than he did with Zesco the last time he played in the MTN Super League.
Mbombo as it stands is the current top goal scorer with 8 goals in the league two more than the nearest player. Idriss’s current form has seen him punish opposition defences, goalkeepers and pretenders alike while making everything look so easy. Mbombo who has become a fan favourite among the Nkana faithful and to reward him whenever he scores they sing “MBO MBO MBO MBO MBO MBO MBO MBO MBO” which is a line from the theme song of the movie Shaka Zulu.
Idriss Illunga Mbombo at Nkana FC has formed a deadly trio with Walter Bwalya and Ronald Kampamba of which he seems to outshine the rest with 8 goals while the other two have 2 goals each. The Nkana fans will be hoping Idriss continues with this current form burning and punishing opposition defences with not only his goals but immense work ethic as well as professionalism.
General lovers of the beautiful game, who are in love with goals can only hope that Idriss Illunga Mbombo does not slow down so as to prove that he is the real deal.
