GBFC WOMEN TO PLAY CAF CL
Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club has been given the all-clear to participate in the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League after meeting club licensing conditions.
The Zambian league champions will participate in the CAF Champions League via Cosafa region.
South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns were crowned the inaugural winners of the 2021 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA Qualifiers with a 3-0 victory over Black Rhinos Queens of Zimbabwe in the final in Durban in 2021.
The second instalment of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League Champions COSAFA Qualifiers will be held in the KwaZulu-Natal coastal city from August 4-14.
The inaugural event was an unqualified success in 2021 as South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns took the title and went on to claim the continental crown as well.
Green Buffaloes will fly the Zambian flag for second consecutive season after receiving their certificate from CAF.
