CLINICAL MAPEPA TO THE RESCUE
In what was the second game of Group A, Lesego Radiakanyo, the captain of Botswana’s Double Action Ladies, headed in the fastest goal ever in a qualifying match against the defending champions Green Buffaloes. Despite GBWFC being dominant throughout the match, the team faced the prospect of defeat as they began their quest to defend their title, that was until Xiomara Mapepa was introduced in the second half, a tactical move that bore fruit as she equalised, saving the blushes of the Zambia Army sponsored side.
As it stands, all the teams in the group have a point, making it an interesting fight to finish in the top two and earn a semifinal ticket.
