CHIPOLOPOLO U-17 SETTLE FOR SILVER

The Zambia U-17 boys ended their brillant run at the just ended COSAFA Region 5 Youth Games-2020 with a 2-1 loss to Angola U-17. The young bullets could not keep up with the Angolan well choreographed set pieces conceeding twice. In the 11th minute defender Luis Eusebio reacted the quickest in the box to a low cross freekick form deep and flicked in Angola’s first.

Marcel Zimba pulled one back in the 14th minute after beating the offside line to score his first for the tournament.

Joseph Banda couldn’t add to his tally of 5 goals as he saw his shots saved or go wide off the post. Angola snatched the win in the 89th minute as Eusebio completed his brace again reacting quickest to failed clearance of a corner kick.

The Zambian skipper Joseph Banda walked away with the Player of the Tournament and Golden Boot(5 goals in 4 matches) awards.
