Brian Mwila nominated for sky sports player of the Month

Zambian hitman Brian ‘The Hammer’ Mwila has been nominated for the Sky Sports Austrian Bundesliga player of the month for October.

Mwila, 24 has been shortlisted for the award and will be up against Peter Zulj of SK Sturm Graz , Florian Flecker and Rajko Rep TSV Hartberg and Cheickhou Dieng of Wacker Innsbruck.

The former Buildcon and Green Buffaloes was on song in October after scoring a brace against Austrian Wien. He has also had an assist.

The 24 year old Samfya native has made 8 appearances – 6 in the league- for Altach since joining from Buildcon in the transfer window.

Mwila was arguably Zambia’s best player on international scene after he hit a staggering 8 goals in 11 appearances in 2017.

With such kind of form, he joined South African side Platinum Stars before things didn’t work and returned to Zambia.

Another unsuccessful spell at Buildcon followed and but it seemed like he has a new lease of life in Austria where Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu are struggling for game time.
