BARBRA BANDA – “WE MEAN BUSINESS”
Copper Queens captain Barbara Banda says the team will treat Sunday’s international friendly against Tanzania like any other competition in a quest to maintain a positive momentum ahead of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s send-off match, Banda says match against the Twiga Stars will not be easy but the team is equal to the task.
Coach Bruce Mwape is excited that the Copper Queens will be playing in front of supporters for the first time in over a year.
Mwape says the team wants to put up an impressive show in order to reward the thousands of fans that have backed the team for many years.
Tanzania coach Bakari Shime says the Twiga Stars are using the match to prepare for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers.
Captain Amina Bilali is eager to face a Copper Queens side that will be one of regional flag carriers at the global showpiece in Australia and New Zealand in July.
