LEAGUE REVIEW PART 3
Another batch of Zambian football has come and gone, Zedbola is here to give you a review of the football that has been witnessed so far:
To get the title of “The Most Consistent Team So Far” is Green Eagles FC. The Choma based team has been making light work of all their opponents, getting at least a draw whenever they walk onto the pitch. Green Eagles out of the last 5 games have won 4 and only drawing 1, they also pride themselves of having the meanest defence as they have not conceded a goal in the last 5 games.
To get the title of “Most Exciting Teams So Far” are Zanaco FC and Forest Rangers FC, with Zanaco leading the race. The side also known as “Sensational” has been on fire ever since they had a change of coaches, beating all their opponents since then and only dropped points this past game week as they drew with KYSA. Zanaco in the last 5 games have recorded 4 wins and 1 draw, scoring a total of 13 goals while conceding only 3 goals in the process. Forest Rangers, also known as “Fole Malembe” have been explosive in the past game weeks beating the likes of Nkana, Buildcon and Zesco United. Whenever Forest walk onto the field of play, all respect is put aside as they go all out seeking a victory. In the last 5 games they are undefeated as they have won 4 and drawn 1, scoring a total of 11 goals and conceded 7 in the process. They occupy top spot on the MTN FAZ SUPER LEAGUE standings and have since qualified for the only cup tournament in the land.
To get the title of “Best Player So Far” is no other than James “Jemba Jemba” Chamanga. At this point in time all references to how wine gets finer with age have been used in comparison to the lethal forward, he has been up to his business ever since the league began and now sits at the top of the Goal Scorers chart with 12 goals. They say life begins at 40 and Jemba Jemba has been proving it so.
BEST ATTACK
- Zesco United have the best attack in the league with 32 goals scored in just 20 games.
- Zanaco, Forest Rangers and Green Eagles have the second best attack with 28 each in 19, 22 and 21 games respectively.
- Lusaka Dynamos have the third best attack in the league with 27 goals in 22 games.
BEST DEFENCE
- Green Eagles have the best defence in the league so far, having just conceded 13 goals in 21 games.
- Power Dynamos have the second best defence with 15 goals conceded so far in just 21 games.
- The third best defence goes to 3 teams being Nkana, Forest Rangers and Nkwazi all of whom have conceded just 16 goals in 22, 22 and 19 games respectively.
