LEAGUE FOOTBALL SO FAR

The Zambian super league had promised to be exciting, dynamic, extraordinary, fast and dramatic so far, it’s safe to say it has delivered. With 3 weeks of Zambian club football already played lets breakdown what has been witnessed.

Action coming from both transitional groups has been exciting with Group A having the most goals scored with 38 goals and Group B having scored 6 goals shy with 32 goals. It’s no surprise that the highest scoring team comes from Group A and it’s the sensational Zanaco FC, Zanaco have been free scoring from the word go bashing Red Arrows 4-1 at home then going on to beat Lusaka Dynamos 2-5 away and are fresh from a 4-3 victory over Kitwe United scoring a total of 13 goals in just 3 games as at week 3 earning them the title of “The Most Explosive Side In The League.”

To earn the title of “The Meanest Defence In The League” is the team that is yet to concede in the league and the title goes to Zesco United who have played a game less than every team in the league but still boast of their airtight defence after humbling the likes of Green Buffaloes and Nakambala Leopards. Zesco have had some new introductions to their backline whose performances have been responsible for their robust defence, in a few weeks it will be tested when they host Zanaco.

The title of “The Poorest Form,” without any disrespect aimed at them goes to Kitwe United. The Kitwe based side are yet to record a positive result as it has been 3 losses out of 3 for them and as if that’s not enough, they have let in the most goals living them at the bottom of their group.

The individual receiving the title of “The Best Player So Far” is no other than Rodjers Kola. Rodjers has been unstoppable in front of goal and his record stands at 5 goals in 3 matches which is the best record in the league.

Thank you for the read,  look forward to next review of the league.
