THE UNDER 20
Under-20 assistant coach Charles Bwale has named his final 20 member squad for the Niger 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda next weekend with the two England based players making the list.
Addressing a media briefing this morning, Bwale said that the Wigan Athletic U-18 striker Mwiya Malumo and Lifumpa Mwandwe of Shrewsbury Town are expected in the country to process their documentation before linking up with their teammates.
Bwale said the Zambian team would play two friendly matches before heading to Kigali with the game against Malawi set for this weekend.
The African champions will be away to Rwanda next weekend before hosting the East Africans a week later.
Winners over two legs will face either Sudan or Burundi in the final qualifying round.
The final team comprise some recognisable graduates from the 2017 Cosafa U-17 winning side among them Prince Mumba, Lameck Banda, Martin Njobvu, Muma Mumba, Kingsley Hakwiya, Jonathan Kapelembe and Christopher Katongo.
Bwale has also roped in some members of the U-20 Cosafa tournament in December with Francesco Mwepu, Benson Kolala, Prince Mumba and Justin Mwanza making the cut.
The team is expected to travel to Malawi today where they will be holed until Wednesday May 9 when they depart for Kigali.
